I enjoy sharing with others my creative suggestions to stay motivated at the gym, exercising, or working out. Here are some of those suggestions: Try to Purchase a large amount of supplements. By investing heavily in these, you will feel obligated to train and use them properly.

Placing these in a strategic position in your home will also help remind you that you need to be focused on your health and fitness. Overpay for your exercise equipment and/or gym membership. By doing so, you will feel obligated to use the equipment and/or membership.

Placing these items in strategical locations will also help motivate you and it can constantly be used as a reminder that you should be focusing on your fitness and wellness. Make sure to motivate yourself to attend the gym daily.

Even if you don’t feel like going on a certain day, convince yourself to go and try to at least do a short workout. By putting in the time and effort to go to the gym, you will likely end up doing a full workout anyway upon arriving on the scene and seeing all of your peers taking advantage of the facility.

This is a good trick to use on a day when you are simply lacking motivation. Having a workout partner is also a great motivational tool. It not only helps motivate you to work out hard when you are at the gym, but it also helps you gain a consistent routine and workout schedule.

Some people blow off going to the gym when they are feeling lazy, but wouldn’t you be much less likely to do so if a friend is expecting you to meet him/her there? Friends also can give each other friendly competition. If you see your partner continuing to get stronger or faster, it will motivate you to try and keep up. Focus on finding exercises that you truly enjoy. If you don’t enjoy the activity then it will be much harder to motivate and convince yourself to complete daily. If you enjoy a particular sport, try to find a place where you can play it with others.

This not only would allow you to exercise, but also remain competitive. Make sure that the activity is indeed providing exercise, not just competition. A hot dog eating contest wouldn’t fit the description here. Uploading music, podcasts, etc. onto an iPod is also a great idea for someone who is going to be exercising for an extended period of time. CD’s or books on tape are also good suggestions to provide entertainment. Books and magazines are also suggestions for someone who will be doing cardio on a stationary machine.

Tricking yourself is half the battle. Mentally preparing yourself for the exercise is the hardest part. If you can overcome that then you should be able to complete your objectives. As some people strongly dislike going to gyms or working out, they can still exercise simply by walking, biking or playing a sport or choice.
