Gynecomastia, a physical trait also known as “man boobs,” affects over 30% of men worldwide. A large number of these men spend their time looking for a quick fix, a kind of exercise that will rid them of the fat on their chests and grace them with strong, firm pectorals.

This change is possible, but there is no quick fix – it takes time, dedication, and effort. Pushups, of which there are several effective types, are a great way to eliminate your man boobs. Not only do they work the (upper) chest, they provide a workout to several other parts of the body, making them a good all-around workout. They force you to control your body weight, using your own body as a natural and effective weight.

A standard pushup is performed on the floor with hands shoulder distance apart and a flat back – try to keep your body straight, as if you are standing. Try doing it against a wall to get the hang of it. Other types of pushups can be attempted once you perfect standard pushup form. If, at first, you cannot do a pushup, try doing it leaning on your knees rather than your feet. However, make sure to keep the rest of the form the same. In just a few weeks, your strength should increase enough to do several standard-form pushups.
