Hapkido training may not be a very popular way to exercise but you’ll be surprised why it isn’t so. Hapkido training is some sort of exercise which will also improve your martial art skills so aside from improving your health, it can also help you develop skills which can protect you or your loved ones in times of trouble.
It is also a type of exercise which won’t leave you out of breath but will increase your strength, speed, and jumping abilities which can provide you better cardiovascular and toner muscles.
The kickboxing you’ll have to perform in this exercise will improve your body’s flexibility and mobility and unlike other forms of exercise this will not give you stiffness or soreness after a routine. It is also rather surprising but you’ll notice a change in your outlook in life when your doing this exercise.
You’ll feel lighter, you’ll feel stress free and not irritable at all. It’s also been said that those parents who have children doing the hapkido training, noticed that their children have better moods and attitudes toward other daily activities like homework and house chores which they used to detest.
But before anything else you must remember to start slowly, since this training has stages the first you’ll have to learn is the Basic squat. To do a right basic squat you must face directly forward while positioning your feet farther apart more than your shoulders.
Raise your arms in a fighting position while keeping your upper body and back straight, don’t slouch. Once your positioned already, slowly bend your knees but keep your other parts in it’s position, once your bent parallel with the ground, slowly raise your body back up. The second is kicking.
You should begin slowly and start from the basic to more advanced kicks. Do not immediately engage in jumping kicks or round house kicks until your legs have gotten used to the kicking motions. Make sure that you kick your legs alternately.
After having learned kicking, you can do the Squat kicking. To do the squat kick you must start with the basic squat position but this time you must carry out your kick starting with your right leg first. Do repetitions until your sure that your right leg have adjusted to the motion, then you can the same kicking motion with your left leg.
Like any other exercise you must wear the right clothes in order not to have constrained movements if your clothing is too tight or not to trip over your clothes if your clothes are too big for you. Choose what’s right for you so that you’ll enjoy exercising more. Do not take these exercises lightly, they make you healthier and more skillful in martial arts.
Who knows maybe one day you might be able to use such skill to defend yourself or a loved one. Be sure to be diligent and disciplined to be able to acquire such skills and your efforts will not be wasted.
