The Image 17.5S Treadmill has a few things to recommend it, but it is not a top choice for home treadmills. It has many more drawbacks than pluses. If you’re going to spend your money on something for your home gym in the hopes that it will help your total fitness program, you want to make sure it’s sturdy and functional and has many settings for your comfort and well-being.
One plus is the price. It sells for around $600, which is nice. But that, of course, cannot be your only guide. Another plus is that it attains speeds of 10 miles per hour, which is rare among home treadmills. Many of them only go up to 8 or 9 miles per hour. However, 10 miles an hour is fast to run on a treadmill and, given, the disadvantages of this machine, maybe you don’t need it to go that fast.
At that speed, you’re more than breaking a sweat. You may be feeling faint! It does boast of having 6 fitness programs, but when you compare it to other treadmills in this price range, you realize that there are many with lots more programs and settings to choose from, so this is really not boast-worthy!

This is an extremely short warranty in this industry and shows the lack of commitment on the part of the manufacturer to the product. When there’s a very limited warranty, the manufacturer is saying that it does not necessarily expect it to hold up beyond the guarantee date.
And your treadmill will hopefully get a lot of use, so that’s not something you want to hear! In noting the failures of the product, it’s wise to note that it is made by the company that is the sister company to Proform. Proform Treadmills and Sears Proform Treadmills are not highly regarded by experts in the industry or by users themselves.
